There are a lot of sites online where people can read the scriptures. And there are a lot where people can discuss the scriptures. But what happens is the trolls attack--people just want to sit around cutting and pasting their "top ways to fight Mormons" or whatever. I found a solution to this, which I haven't seen anywhere else. I've created a separate topic for every chapter of the scriptures. First, that recruits those who are seriously looking for a scripture or concept online. Second, it gives the trolls no place whatsoever to post, except as a response to the correlative chapter. Trolls are never going to take the time to find the correlative chapter; and if they do, they can't exaggerate so wildly because the raw text is right there. So, again with the Mormon example, there's no place to say "Mormons believe _______" except as a response to the relevant chapter in the Bible or Book of Mormon.
I also promise to police the heck out of this board, and do everything else in my power to recruit intelligent and faithful people and scare away the trolls.
